Bernard REYBOZ was born in 1951 in Lyon. He studies in the Fine art of Besançon, then Arts deco in Nice. He begins his professional career in the illustration, for the advertising, the edition and the cinema. In 1978, he abandons this activity to dedicate himself exclusively to his artistic route. During a journey in Nice in 1972, the artist discovers pebble beaches. What registers the departure, the orientation, and maybe the dynamics of the work of Bernard Reyboz, even he ignored it at that the time, the scale which the subject of pebbles would take in its work and career. " In 1987, I spent several weeks to photograph cut or wild vegetable hedges. I liked these thick facades in which we could plunge hands or push our body. The numerous stemming photos of this "study", are at the origin of "TEXTURES" and " FIELDS OF PERCUSSION ". " The realization of MONOLITHS (sculptures of any dimensions and any forms similar to that of the pebble) then took over. Volumes dressed in symbols, in writings, in "organic" signs of the volumes become graphic supports for the another destination closer to the expression, to the interpretation and to the imagination … "
